SullivanArc’s Family Support Services and Recreation Program provide services to adults and children that reside with their families. Services include:
Respite: In home day and evening respite services provide free time for families who are caring for a disabled child or adult family member with a developmental disability. Respite providers offer companionship, activities and assistance with daily living skills. Overnight Respite in a certified residential site, planned respite or in the event of an emergency, needed relief is available from constant care giving. Overnight respite is only available to adults.
Family Reimbursement Program: This program is available to families with an adult or child family member with a developmental disability who resides at home in Sullivan County. This program provides financial assistance for equipment, environmental modifications and other items not covered by insurance.
Residential Habilitation at Home: “Res Hab” is a program that assists individuals living in the community, alone or with family in developing skills of daily living, personal grooming, household chores and social skills necessary to enable a person to reach their highest level of independence.
Recreation: This program is for individuals with developmental disabilities ages 7 or older during weekend and evening hours. Activities include bowling, movies and dinner, Special Olympics, seasonal and holiday activities. Adults in the program have the opportunity to participate in special college programs at Sullivan County Community College.
