On April 30, 2011, Kohl's Distribution Center of Wurtsboro, NY sent
approximately 190
Associates and their families to SullivanArc's Hemming
Farm in Woodbourne to begin the second phase of our Community Garden.
The Kohl's Associates, under the guidance of SullivanArc staff, performed many
tasks, including building garden beds, lining the beds with stones, building raised
beds for wheelchair access, composting, moving straw bales, digging a trench and
generally preparing the garden for spring vegetable planting. The program, called KOHL'S CARES is part of a nationwide commitment from Kohl's that sends
volunteers
to help non-profit organizations and environmental initiatives.
